Will Insurance Or Medicaid Pay For A PCA To Help My Autistic Grandson?

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭
West Seneca, NY

I have custody of my grandson who will be 4 in May and has been diagnosed with ADS, ODD and Sever ADHD. I can really use some help with getting him to eat, chasing him (he has no fear) reading to him and everyday things.

Here in Nevada Medicaid does pay for Personal Care Attendants. However, they way they go about authorized amount of hours can seem quite stingy. Also, make sure you thoroughlyinterview the agency as well as the PCA. If you have a family member or friend that could be your child's PCA they can get the certification and be paid as well. I was the office administrator for a local PCA agency for 7 years. I know the ins and outs of Medicaid as well as PCAs so if you need any more information please contact me....I'm more than happy to help.

Who diagnosed your grandson? where is the paperwork that validated and documented his disability. You need to visit his doctor in charge and get some referral info. That may be a starting place.
