Autism Spectrum Therapies
My son is on the spectrum and I wanted to know what therapies fellow parents would suggest? How old did you start them off in therapies? And how many differe t therapies did you or do you have your kiddos in all together? Any advice would help my out so much!
Thank you guys ♡
My DD was diagnosed with global developmental delay at 24 mos. and started receiving services through EI at 27 months (preschool that used a mix of ABA, Floortime, and TEACCH methods and had twice-weekly pullouts for speech & OT). She received the ASD diagnosis at 35 months and we took her off gluten, dairy, and soy. Started seeing our biomed dr. at 37 months and started private OT & PT at 39 months. When she got off the wait list for private speech at 43 months we dropped PT. She has done some sessions in a social skills group and are hoping to get that going again soon. One thing she has unfortunately *NOT* done yet is ABA because we our old insurance and the Regional Center both claimed it was the other's responsibility to fund.

My son is 15. When he was a toddler he had all kinds of therapists and a developmental psychiatrist. I found the occupational and developmental therapy helped. Then we tried ABA which helped him through pre school and part of grade school. Now I am trying RDI therapy. It just seems like he has plateaus and I am searching for the next step. I cannot speak much to diets because he is a pro at sneaking food. If I had more control over that it may help as well.

Pre school for delayed kids, kindergarten for kids with disabilities, speech therapy, OT, ABA, respite care, camos for kids with disabilities, music therapy....yikes we did a lot. ABA was very helpful but now that my son is turning 18 we won't get that anymore.
