Don't Have Private Insurance, what States Or School Districts Cover ABA Therapies In The US?
We live in Texas and we would like to know what services are available for our 6yr old son who has Autism at another state? We don't have private insurance,Our son receives ABA therapies covered by Medicaid but just for 2 years,we still have 5 months left and we are considering moving any other state(Illinois,Ohio,Florida,Maryland,Pennsylvania).i would like to know what states or school districts cover ABA services?lAny advice is welcome.
I live in NJ and my son is 17 and has been receiving ABA.through.our school district since he was 4 years old. They have specific ABA classes now in school. But also home services provided by the school district.
Hello - I'm not sure what you mean by having only 5 months left for Medicaid to cover ABA therapy for your child. Here in NY, although we have to go through "re-certification" annually, our child who is on the spectrum receives unlimited services just as long as it is a "need." I hear AZ has fantastic schools/programs that has covered ABA services too. They also do not limit the years of "needed" services, unless the child actually no longer needs the service. So I guess my question is: Is it Medcaid itself that has limited the services or is it the Program that has limited your child's ABA therapy?
I also live in NJ and my daughter receives, speech, OT and ABA in school and she also receives ABA therapy at home through our insurance.
