Potty Training A Non-Verbal
Does anyone have any tips, methods, etc in how to even start to potty train a non-verbal PDD-NOS.
So that you don't wind up tearing your hair out, keep in mind that often our children potty train later than typically developing children. I think I remember seeing on baby center that average age for girls is somewhere around 36 months so if you feel like your daughter isn't ready, listen to your gut and give her a little more time. Good luck!
We made a book using pictures of Max sitting on the toilet and using a social story. Also everytime he went in there he could play with a special toy. Then we started bribing him everytime he used the bathroom we bought him a new toy car. Eventually he went on his own with a little prompting. Now he is independent!
