Chin/jaw Pressure (sensory)
My son is 3 and really craves chin/jaw pressure. When we try to help him by putting our hand on his chin, he pushes us away. He gets so upset and grits and grinds his teeth until we hear cracking and he will try to pinch or bite us if we try to hold him. His cuddle swing helps somewhat as does his weighted blanket but it would be nice to know if there's something more effective. It's just so hard to see him in pain and not be able to help him.
Is he seeking oral sensory stimulation? You may want to look into chewable toys. I know they make chewable rulers, tubes, pendants, necklaces, etc. which some people find very helpful.
Are you doing lead chelation? Lead sometimes settles in the jaw. My son used to do this a lot but now only during rounds of chelation...when the lead is coming out.
