Best Way To Organize Thoughts For Diagnosis Journey?
I am having difficulty organizing my thoughts for a preliminary evaluation with the pediatrician. I feel like I have such a long laundry list I'm having a hard time approaching it. Tips?
Honestly the diagnosis is the most important step right now for you and your child. I would only worry about the issues that are going to get your child diagnosed. You are not there for treatment, that will come afterwards. You are going to have to see specialists that can better help your child in specific areas so your primary does not have to get into those issues.
I know it is tough but you have to stay strong and get things done for your child. It is a long road and this is the first of many steps
Did you write it down? I kept a list for years.
Write down every single question you have, then ask all of them! You don't want to leave their office with unanswered questions, the more information you get, the better equipped you are to succeed! Even if you think it may be nagging, ask away! I'm much more informed now than I was 3 years ago...I ask everyone everything!
Thank you! Perfect. Yes, I was in the medical field myself and knew that this would be overwhelming for the doctor but I wanted to ensure that I said enough to have them refer appropriately. Your reply has been very helpful, thanks!!!
