Head Size

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭
Hammonton, NJ

My sons new Dr is concerned with the size of his size but wouldn't elaborate. I've always thought it was proportionate with his body size. He's always been upper 90% for height, 80% for weight, and low 90% for head. Is anyone else Dr concerned about this? What could it mean?

All three of my kids were born with heads sized 90-97%. They were also 10-11lbs and 22-23 inches long. The doctors showed no concerns. Both my husband and I have large heads and are tall.

There are new interventions for children with Fragile X, medical treatment-from what I understand-

The Doctor may have been concerned about the size of his testes-if he is at/near puberty an indicator of fragile x. If it is fragile X, yes your daughter should be tested...

He's scheduled for fragile x test next month. We just want a full picture of what's going on as he's an only child. We don't plan on any more either.
