I have thought about it but my son will not wear something like that. So I bought him Whos Shoes Id. Its a velcro strap that you put on their shoe laces and on the inside of it you put all your info. Its great in case they do wonder off.

Some people put there names inside their clothes or when on vacation use temp tattoos on their shoulder. When we went on vacation I bought a box of those wristbands they use for waterparks , the ones you need to cut off and wrote our cell phone numbers and his name on it. I did it for all three of my kids when they were young. They fought to get them off put couldn't . What ever you do, I would definitely let the local police and emergency squad know what kind of identification and where to find it. Once I started giving them my sons info, felt a little more at ease if he should wonder, they had his info already for the dispatcher to put out

I had one for my son when he was younger. I put autistic on one side my contact and our local police contact info. I also filled out a form with info about my son and dropped off at police and EMTs office. They now have a special folder and started training programs for officers EMTs, firefighters in my town on how to handle someone with ASD.

I'm looking into getting one for my son. He doesn't like to wear bracelets or anklets, and he takes off his shoes frequently, so I'm not too sure what to do. I'll probably get the bracelet and just keep telling him he needs to keep it on. If you keep doing something long enough he will usually let it become a routine and actually embrace it.
