My Son's Ears Get Red And Hot, Usually In The Evening.

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭
West Hempstead, NY

My son's ears get hot and beet red, usually in the evening. I don't know if this is one of the side effects of the Focalin 10mg.
Has any one experienced something similar? I haven't asked the doctor yet.

I have alway wondering why my son had his ears torn red very hot . He would cry and screen . I had reported it to the Doctor. The Doctors reply was it is a blush. I knew better . It sure had nothing to do with a blush. I also felt my sons brain did not know how to shut down. 35 yrs years later . To find out we still do not have the proper medical diagnosis. He suffers REM Sleep disorders has a autism diagnosis. Who is locked up in our FBOP. No help for him while being incarcerated. Just medical abuse mental physical and verbal abuse.

My boys have the same problem I would love to know why too. The boys are 13 now and they get frustrated that I don't know why it is happening

My sons ears get red and hot too. this has been happening long before we ever put him on meds. I don't know why it happens but it does. His feet also get very warm when he is tired.

My daughter was on focalin and intuniv and her face and ears would get bright red when sleeping. They caused her to over heat.

@A MyAutismTeam Member I also give my son melatonin to help him sleep at night, but the redness on his ears usually happens before I give him the melatonin. So weird! He has a doctor's appt next week and I'll be sure to ask.
