Has Anyone Every Had Their Child Tested For Food Sensitivities?
I have my 6 year old daughter on a healthy diet and she takes fish oil. But recently I eliminated dairy from her diet and saw a difference in her behavior. I then reintroduced, in small amounts, dairy back into her diet and saw a flare-up of symptoms. Her symptoms tend to be inconsistent which might be explained by a food intolerance. Anyone had a similar situation?
yes but the tests are not highly reliable. We treated for food issues using NAET. His symptoms went away.
I didn't bother with getting my 7-year-old HFA daughter tested because I was told that the most accurate way was trial and observation. So that is what we did and I have learned that my little one is totally in another world if I don't cut out wheat, casein, soy and yeast. Luckily she is a good eater and even love sardines and spinach. So this works for use. I know it might now for others.
When we take her off the diet she goes back in to her own world.
My son has had bowel movement issues since he was put on milk when he was a year old, he is now almost 4. I recently had him tested for gluten and casein intolerance and he is allergic to both. We had to give him gluten and dairy just before the test and the gluten products made him so hyperactive and irritated. The dairy is one of the foods that cause his constipation issues, but he also has a bit of a yeast build up and is lacking b-12, along with some other things that help keep the intestines moving food along and absorbing it correctly. For autistic children, food often does affect their behavior. I would definitely look into having your daughter tested for some food allergies.
I too eliminated dairy from our diets and saw a burst of language and health improvements.
We went to only raw milk and dairy, only whole foods - nothing processed and noticed a huge impact on mood and self esteem ( depression) . We as a family started taking DE and ALL of us had dead worms in our BM! Since then , better food has equaled better all around.
