Can Anyone Share Their Success Story With Getting A Nonverbal ASD Toddler To Be Verbal?
How Can I Get My Almost 4 Year Old To Poop In The Toilet?
He is completely pee trained, morning and night. He doesn’t want the pull up anymore. He won’t poop in the toilet, but also is fighting the pull-ups. He’s now gone 2 days without pooping and he is in pain. He keeps saying no like booboo and take booboo, while holding his stomach. And he wants me to pick him up and thinks cream will make the pain go away so he keeps applying cream on his stomach 😢
I don’t know how to help him poop. Any suggestions? I’ve tried bribery and he isn’t motivated by tv… read more
To a child, that's a huge hole, enough to swallow them.
I can only guess to My Son it was the noise, or the splash of water on the butt that startles them.

Autism And Illness
Now that we are in the middle of cold and flu season (and also Covid) I wanted to get some tips or advice about giving meds to young autistic children who are non-verbal. It’s a challenge for us to even know what ails my son because he doesn’t communicate well.
Right now, he’s had a bad cold for a week and I took him to the doctor and he also has an ear infection. They prescribed antibiotics in liquid form but I can’t disguise it in chocolate milk because the taste is too strong. The… read more

Autism And School
Hello. My autistic son turned 7 and I know he’s supposed to start school. The schools in our area do not have enough support/resource for him. He was referred to a private school for autism but he is on the waiting list and 4th in that list. They said realistically it may take 4 years to make it to the top of the list. What do we do in the meantime? If he can’t start school until years later, how will he be at “grade level”? Also, how does grade level and state testing work with children who… read more
@kgates-when the twins were little and a school in Chicago did not have an autism class or any support, I campaigned to get all of that started in this school on the south side. OMG it was so hard. I… read more
My Son Won't Keep His Hands Out Of His Pants. Any Tips?
As embarrassing as it's becoming my son is always trying to play with his privates. It's so much we are having a hard time taking him anywhere without getting disgusted looks. Im sure it's a sensory issue. I've looked for abnormalities but there's nothing and his Dr doesn't have anything to say. He's only 8 so it seems a bit young to be going thru puberty. But I need some advice please.
I have checked the area it seems to be normal. He's my 2nd son out of the 3 boys I have. It's definitely a different experience for Davis. I usually gently remove his hands and tell him no hands in… read more
Work From Home Jobs
Do any of you moms or dads with special needs children work from home? i am looking for a remote job that i can do along with my daughter's busy therapy/school schedule. Finding something that is not 9-5 remote daily seems to be hard. i am able to work some hours just not straight through like being online from 9-5 with no interruptions. This is because marleigh has therapy sessions every day throughout the day so i am trying to find something i can kind of set my own schedule for. I live in NC… read more
