Potty Training Nonverbal Teenager
My son was very close to potty trained from age 6-8 but regressed after some medical issues and lost the skills. 2 years ago he would sit on the toilet with the lid closed. In our current apartment, he refuses to get near the toilet and definitely not sit on it. Has anyone had any luck potty training with an older child who has been in pull ups a long time?
All I know is that a 'Distraction' (one that preferably makes them laugh) is a great motivator.
So have a Tech Device or even a simple toy as a distraction while they are in there.
Behavior Issues At School
My grandson is getting in trouble at school because he’s pushing or biting other kids. We’ve had many conversations, but he always gets easily frustrated and reacts this way. How do we help him?
Im so sorry to hear this. You must feel stressed about it. I agree with what’s been said. The behaviours are showing overwhelm or distress. This means staff need to be proactive. Sometimes those… read more

Has Anyone Heard Of Having Virtual ABA Therapy For Their Child? I Just Think It Is Very Odd, Not Very Happy About It
Also, I spoke with TCRC and was told that they don't provide ABA services anymore and that "a lot of parents are being misled" because other agencies are still referring them to Tri-counties to get services for their Child(ren) who have developmental disabilities! Does anyone know of any other agencies that provide quality, home-based ABA, not virtual?
Ya.. I looked into that. It was a no for me.. they were based out of CA if I remember. My grandson would walk away from the screen.

What Can Be Done To Help Headbanging/hitting Head?
My daughter has always hit her head with both hands in every sinario (even when she first wakes up) but recently it's been getting very hard and I just don't know what to do about it, it's so hard to try distract her and try to find any triggers is seeming to be impossible, any advise would be greatly appreciated, especially since the woman who normally works with my child is off on holiday 😬
I agree that perhaps she has something dental going on. She may be trying to cause pain elsewhere to distract her from the pain in her mouth, if that is what she is experiencing. Like I mentioned in… read more
