I’m listening to the audiobook, and I find it so interesting and helpful. I’m noticing my daughter’s coping skills and her improvement. She is communicating her needs to me and advocating for herself.

Hello MAT Family! If You Have A Story You Would Like To Share About A 504 Plan To Support Your Child, I Would Love To Hear About It!

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭
Stockton, CA

My name is JC Ellinger, and I am a writer for Autism Parenting Magazine. I am doing a piece all about 504s which, unlike IEPs, parents may be less familiar with. If you have experience or a story you would like to share with me and other families, I am open ears (and eyes)! Of course, if you are more comfortable with privately emailing me about it we could arrange that as well. Hope to hear from some of you! Happy Friday to all 🙂

A MyAutismTeam Member

I have experience with the 504 and an IEP. If we could do a private chat. My email is (Email address can only be seen by the question and answer creators)

Anyone In The Naples FL Area That Used A Service To Teach Their Child To Drive? Looking For Help, Mine Doesn't Enjoy Driving With Me.

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭
Naples, FL

My life revolves around driving to and from appointments. My child has a driver's permit, it is like pulling teeth to get practice driving done. I feel like I am expected to be the driver for life. There are so many more things that could potentially be accomplished, but since I am around no progress happens. Am I the problem?

A MyAutismTeam Member

Try Vocational Rehabilitation they maybe helpful as I know they have driving course and some hosptials.

Hello, I Hope Evryone Is Doing Well. I Have A Question On Housing....

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭
Ventura, CA

Anyone on the list for housing assistance In California? More specifically the HVC (housing Voucher Program)? I'm asking because I am in much need of housing assistance, I have my son 50 percent of the time, and rent is too high in the area I'm at. I could possibly be approved, depending on if I meet eligibility requirement, but my current income is extremely low, until I can get approved through IHSS on the days I have my son, who needs constant supervision. Has anyone been through this? What… read more
