He wont be evaluated until sometime in nov give or take a few months.

Anyone Know Of Any Social Groups For Adolescents On The Spectrum In NYC Area?
Good afternoon all. I am a parent of a 19 year old adolescent male, who is looking into joining a social group for my son. He has had trouble socializing but has expressed that he was open to it. It's been hard for him to adjust into his new school since he's been homeschooled for the last 4 years with little to no social interactions with his peers. I've tried to having him join virtual social gatherings when covid was at its peak but he refused to participate. I never wanted to force him. But… read more
Have you tried the Autism Society as they may know of social groups.

Anybody Ever Try Craniosacral Therapy?
We tried this yesterday and we have already seen positive results in behavior, unless it is coincidence.
Participating in such a study is great since it can be quite expensive I am pretty sure that you will keep seeing positive outcome. I have a friend with an autistic child and she has tried everything… read more

My son loves to eat and eats quite a few things, but he will regurgitate his food and seems to be eating it a second time ( so gross I know). I don't know why he does this or even how to stop it, any ideas would be great.

Does Anyone Have Sleep Issues With AS Children?
My daughter only gets about 7 hours of sleep. I know she needs more than that. She is a much nicer kids when and if she sleeps more. I only get about 6 hours of sleep, I have to stay up until I know she is fast asleep, if I don't she will continually wake me up.
Thank you all!! This will be very helpful.
Future
I often wonder what life will be like for my 2.5 yr old with Autism..i would love to hear from parents with older kids.did u find as they got older things got easier or harder for them??
@michele18- homeschool kids socialize too, it's just not as demanding to do, and there are escapes. It also allows your child to have 100% customized attention and curriculim.
Best Place To Retire With Adult Child?
Hi guys,
I'm seeking opinions on retirement locations for parents with adult children. I'll retire in another decade, but want to lay the groundwork for a smooth transition. I anticipate my adult son will live with us, so I'm looking for areas with the best services. My current location is pretty decent in terms of services, but it's too costly for retirees. All info is much appreciated!
Thanks.
